Feel like tangling with the world of Malayalam movies? Watch Thattathin Marayathu. This is the story of two people, Aby and Shalu, who are brought together by chance and then torn apart through unforeseen circumstances. Aby falls for Shalyu even though he knows that she is engaged to someone else. When their paths cross again, both try to convince themselves that they are no longer interested in each other but soon find themselves drawn to each other once more. The film has two love stories connected with each other. The first is the main love story of Aby (Nivin Pauly) and Shalu (Bhama). The second one is the sub-story which is shown through flashbacks, wherein Niyas (Asif Ali) and Amina (Parvathy) are having a relationship. Niyas's father objected to their relationship as Amina belongs to another religion. At the time of engagement, he noticed that Amina was wearing a chain just like Shalu's. He asked her how she procured it and she replied that Shalu has given it to her as she liked the chain. The chain was actually a gift for Shalu's sister who was getting married. The chain that Amina gave to Niyas was one that belonged to Shalu. Niyas continually ignored the chain which she kept on wearing. When Shalu found out, she got angry and threatened Amina. Amina then revealed her identity to Shalu. As a result, they quarrel and various various misunderstandings take place among the members of the family. The film ends with Aby and Shalu reuniting in a taxi just like how it started in the opening scene of the movie when Aby accidentally called Shalyu by her name in front of Niyas and Amina when they were drinking tea in front of their house. Both the stories were narrated to Aby by Shalyu. He asks her whether she would like to make their relationship official and she replies 'Yes'.The music was composed by Gopi Sunder and lyrics was written by Rafeeq Ahamed. The soundtrack features four songs: Additional songs in the film include: Anand Madhusoodanan – "Rajavin Parayarukku" (song from 2002 film "Spadikam").The film was remade into Tamil as "Sathuranga Vettai" (2014) and into Bengali as "Byomkesh O Agnibaan" (2015).
